Mr. Taplin's Class

by: Alyssa, Madi & Katelyn

Mr. Taplin's class is so much fun. We love art. He is an amazing artist and he's got major talent! One of our favorite art lessons was personalizing and expressing ourselves by creating a picture with our names. the yearbook is awesome this year and we are having fun trying to find all the peach signs. Maybe Mr. Taplin can quit here at South and come to Jr. High with us!!!

Dear PTO:

You are definitely overachievers when it come to honoring the staff at South Elementary. We all enjoyed breakfast, cakes, cookies, candles, hamburgers, and fancy highlighters. Some were even lucky enough to have their names drawn for special prizes. We thank you for treating us like royalty.

A Riddle for You...
By: Mrs. Lela Russell

What do you get when you cross Superman with George Washington?

Well, he's able to leap from BJH to south in a single bound. He's strong enough to reverse a declining TAKS score. He flies faster than a...Oh, I forgot, he can't actually fly.

He's been our campus leader in every sense of the word; holding us to a higher standard, but none to as high a standard as he holds himself. He NEVER gives up! Like the problems faces at Valley Forge, he looked for creative ways to solve our campus issues, often staying late into the evening, refusing to give in. Humble and honest, when he speaks, its well worth listening to.

So, there you have it. The answer to your riddle is......

We want to wish our principals the best as they will be moving to their new assignments this summer.

(245 miles SW of Breckenridge) Your classmate Jimmie will get to be a part of the "Pride of the Oil Patch" Roughneck Band. This 1A High School Band has earned a State Championship or State Runner-up 10 times in the last 28 years! They even march in the July 4th parade in D.C. about every 5 years.

Good Luck Jimmie!
