Power of Routine

Routines help kids develop important habits.

*Have regular sleep and wake-up times to ensure your child gets enough rest?

*Read with your child every day!

*Exercise with your child every day!

*Visit the library at least once a week.

These routines will help your child be successful in school and in life.

Upcoming Field Trips

1st Grade to visit North Elementary

May 25

First Grade goes to Park and Movies

A child must ride the bus to the field trip and return to school on the bus.  Parents may pick up their child at the school.

The best thing to do all summer is to read to your child or have them read throughout the summer!

Summer School will be August 6-17.  You will be contacted if your child will need to attend.  This will give students a “boost” for the upcoming school year!

East Elementary has handicap parking in the Faculty parking lot.  This parking space is reserved for ONLY those vehicles with handicap stickers.  Please be respectful for those truly in need of that space.

All Aboard For Learning

Good Sportsmanship matters – on the field and off!

Team sports aren’t just for fun.  They also offer an opportunity for teaching good sportsmanship.  Before the next game, remind your child to be:

*Respectful to teammates and opponents.

*A good winner (no bragging).

*A good loser (no whining).

Research shows that kids who hear this “good sportsmanship” message before competing demonstrate better conflict resolution skills than kids who don’t.  Better yet, those skills may spill over into the classroom!
