Class Valentine parties will be on Tuesday, February 14. Please check with your child’s teacher for exact times.

The 100th day of school will be February 1! Ask your child to count to 100 for you. We have been practicing!!
PTO will meet Tuesday, February 7 at 5:00. The Spring fundraiser will be discussed along with ideas for how the money will be spent on the children at East Elementary. PTO is a great way to meet other children’s parents and be a part of a great team!
Stay tuned for our next community service project. We will again participate in “Pennies for Patients”. We collect for children fighting Leukemia. Our goal this year is $2012!! It is important to teach our children to count our blessings and help those around us. |

Have you watched people that struggle with life’s everyday up and downs? They seem to let drama traumatize their world. Developing coping skills start when we are children.
Loving parents allow their children to develop winning skills by allowing them to experience disappointments, make small mistakes, and experience the natural and logical consequences. Shielding them from all of life's hardships sends the message that they aren't strong enough to cope with their losses. Loving them through their sadness allows them to win every time they lose.
Be a strong parent – stop the superman syndrome of saving your child from failure. They will be a healthier adult. Believe in your child’s ability to overcome. By doing so you teach them to believe in themselves. |
