It’s Official: The US Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency announced on Thursday, September 15, 2011 that Breckenridge Junior High is now a Nationally Recognized Blue Ribbon School. From the entire nation, the US Department of Education selected only 304 schools for this prestigious recognition, twenty-six of which are from Texas. Yahoo BJHS & BISD!

Thursday, September 8th was a busy sports day for Junior High athletes and coaches. Football: Team 7A defeated Bangs 38-0; Team 8A won 18-6; Team 7A lost to Albany (there) 40-0; Team 7B Lost to Haskell (there) 20-0. Volleyball: Team 8A defeated Bangs 25-12; 25-21; Team 7A lost in the third game; Team 7B won, 25-22 & 25-7; Team 8B also won, 18-25; 25-23; 25-12. Our Cross Country athletes also performed well this week (09/07/11) at Bangs; overall results yet to arrive on that event. Speaking of Cross Country, Tiffany Maxwell, below right, proudly displays her 1st place medal in the 2-mile, and Kenzie Flournoy holds hers for 2nd Place -- Great Work!
